What’s the difference between the European and American resistance specifications?
1)American spec. products work on a variable resistance from 240 ohms at empty to 33 ohms at full.
2)European spec. products work on a variable resistance from 0 ohms at empty to 190 ohms at full.
Important Notice:
Both the sender and gauge must have the same resistance values.
When replacing the fuel gauge on your boat/speedboat/truck/RV, ensure you know your sender's signal output. If your sender outputs 0-190 ohms, you must purchase a gauge that matches 0-190 ohms for proper operation. If you install a 240-33 ohm gauge instead, even with correct wiring, the gauge will read backwards (reverse indication).
